RETREAT SEASON BEGINS
Brother Martin High School begins the year with a series of new retreats that focus on age-appropriate spiritual formation experiences that encompass Catholic tradition, Christian faith, and the charism and history of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Each grade level will have its own off-campus retreat day, allowing students to truly "retreat" from the busyness of everyday life and from their normal day-to-day school campus environment.
The 8th grade class had their retreat this week at St. Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The day was filled with interactive activities. Four groups formed in the parish Community Center and in rotation visited the grave site of the deceased Brothers and had the opportunity to see the grave of the school's namesake, Brother Martin Hernandez. From that site they met with their student ministers on the Pier for group discussion, and then had snacks in the gymnasium, and finally returned to the Center for some brainstorming. The day ended with mass at Our Lady of the Gulf church.

7th GRADE FRIDAY MORNING ACTIVITY
Friday morning, August 27, seventh graders gathered before school in the Conlin Gymnasium for crazy competitions amongst first period classes. The teachers even joined in! Look for some more exciting Friday Fun days throughout the school year.

Students in Mr. Coats's Chemistry classes conducted a "lab practical" in which they rotated every 15 seconds to another lab station to identify the specific lab tools they will be using throughout the year.
