Eddie Daigle and Norman Ballatin participated in the 1933 Southwestern College and High School Track Meet in Lafayette. These two athletes accumulated enough points to place the St. Aloysius Panthers second among the high schools.
According to The Panther Yearbook, "Eddie Daigle is considered the fastest high school sprinter in Louisiana and holds sprint records at the Prep, Association Track Meet, and the Annual Louisiana Rally. By the fact that Eddie is also an exceptionally fine discus heaver, he may be considered a 15-point man in any high school track meet."
"Norman Ballatin all but balances Daigle's track performances by his ability in the field events. Norman's main weapons are the discus and shot put."
Both Daigle and Ballatin were juniors on Coach E. W. Jones's track squad.
